Hello, I don't know of support groups anywhere than Nashville since that's where I live, but maybe someone else can tell you.  do you mind telling us a little about what kind of support you need?  Is there anything in particular we can help you answer?  Feel free to pm me if you want.

there is a support group at Cookeville hospital. They meet 2nd Wednesday in the month at 5:30pm. I have not been yet, but I am going in January. Hope this helps. See you there.  My name is Ronda.

Thank you Ronda for posting this.  maybe you and she could pm one another, schedule your first meeting, that way you neither one will have to be newcomers...  you could help one another through the first meeting to be more comfortable....

Hey!

As is already posted there is a support group at Cookeville Regional on the 2nd Wednesday of each month!  It is sponsered by Centennial but people come who have had surgery at other Nashville  and Knoxville hospitals!  Everyone is welcome!

I just had my surgery on the 17th.  and am still in the "newbie" stage but I really recommend that you please post questions on the message boards.  I had tons of questions and worries prior to surgery and most of those were answered here or on the Centennial board.

My only suggestion is that you get on the message board sponsered by your hospital.  Every group of doctors have their own specifications as to what you are to eat (before and after) as well as what requirements you must complete before they will perform surgery.

I hope this helps!  Good luck!

I had my surgery at Vandy, on 12/9/8, so I'm a newbie too.  I have always felt welcome at the Cookeville group, and enjoy going.   I missed December but do look forward to getting back in January.  Hope to see you there!
